Grand Opening of the Outdoor Space for Stargazing in Asbestos (Old Asbestos Mine) and Stargazing Evening

On Friday, September 23rd, 2022, the Grand opening of the Outdoor Space for Stargazing in Asbestos (Old Asbestos Mine) and an Evening of Stargazing, took place in the same space. The event took place in collaboration with the Department of Forestry and the 10.10 Asteroskopeion in the framework of the implementation of the Action "Stargazing and Natural Environment-Alternative Product of Development and Projection of Geoparks of the Eastern Mediterranean" with the acronym Geostars, which is implemented through the Interreg V-A Cooperation Program, Greece-Cyprus, 2014-2020, in the areas of Sitia and Troodos, led by the Forestry Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment (D1) and the Troodos Development Company (ANET) (D2). The outdoor Stargazing area was designed by the Department of Forests as part of the Geostars project to be able to host stargazing evenings. The mentioned event took place after the completion of the construction and configuration of the space.
